Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow

I love video games, a story about video game creators and their relationship as friends, collaborators and maybe-lovers seemed like it would be very much for me.
The video game-y stuff in this book really shines, but it’s in the characters that the book becomes a bit difficult for me. They go through a heck of a lot of trauma, and in the end I found it a bit exhausting hearing about another thing going wrong with them.
There’s a lovely through-line with the title - a line from Macbeth about the monotony of life - where a character draws similarities with video games. Every day a reset, game over, go again. It’s metaphor is sound, and I did like the book. If you’re into video games, it’s worth a go.
I’ve started a new habit of giving away books to friends, as I did with this one. I hope they like it.
